Budget hotels in Haridwar| Guest house in Haridwar -Perched at the point where the Ganges emerges from the Himalaya, Haridwar is one of the holiest Hindu cities in India. Devotees arrive here in droves to bathe in the fast-flowing Ganges. The sheer numbers of people gathering around Har-ki-Pairi Ghat give Haridwar a chaotic but reverent feel.
Although, Haridwar is much more significant than Rishikesh which an hour far away from here and every evening the river comes alive with flickering flames as floating offerings are released onto the Ganges.
It is most crowded during the Chardham yatra season from May to October, and is the site of the annual Magh Mela religious festival.
Haridwar’s main street is Railway Road has become Upper Road, which runs parallel to the Ganges canal and the river Ganga proper runs further to the east. Bara Bazaar run from south of Har-ki-Pauri Ghat.
Usually only cycle-rickshaws are permitted between Laltarao Bridge and Bhimgoda Jhula, hence all vehicles have to travel around the opposite bank of the river.

Haridwar city has pressure of hotels catering to Hindu pilgrims. The busiest time of year is the yatra season from April to November – outside this time you should have no problem finding a room at discounts of 20% to 50%.
Jassa Ram Road and the other parallel running off Railway Road have plenty of budget hotels. Although some of have fancy foyers and neon signs which are different in budgets. Down by the ghats, there are a number of highrise hotels that have good views and good rooms.
Currently the best of the budget choices, the Arjun beats its neighbours for cleanliness and comfort. Some rooms have balconies. Most have their quirks, though – one a broken tv, another a dead overhead light – so take a look at a few if you can. It’s walking distance from the train and bus stations.

Just a few minutes’ walk from Har-ki-Pairi Ghat and the Mansa Devi cable car, this place is set back from the road around a surprisingly quiet courtyard. Rooms are spacious, with nice wooden furnishings, glass and steel light fixtures, flat-screen TVs and modern bathrooms.
