To get Auli, you go by cable car. Joshimath – Auli Ropeway, ropeway system is the highest and ropeway of India and longest in Asia. Covering about distance of 4.15 kms in just 22 minutes, the ropeway has two cable cars and 10 towers, which offers mesmerizing views and worth each penny.
The begining point Joshimath is at an altitude of 6254 ft and Auli is at 9896 ft. The Cable Car / Ropeway journey also offers you great panaromic views of the Himalayan summits such as Nanda Devi, Mana Parbat, Dungagri, Beethartoli, Nikanth Hathi Parbat and Ghori Parbat. Auli itself is surrounded by Gorson Reserve forest, greened by golden oak and coniferous trees.
