 Santala Devi Mandir

This temple is also known as Santura Devi Temple. It is one of the famous places to visit in Dehradun among pilgrims and has great cultural and religious significance. According to legends, Santala Devi along with her brother, on rising that they would not be able to fight with the Mughal Army, abandoned their weapon and begin to pray to God.

Mindrolling monastery

The construction of this monastery was begun in 1965 to protect and promote Tibetan culture. Poanta Sahib Gurudwara

Gurudwara Paonta Sahib is a revered shrine of the Sikh religion. This sacred shrine not only renders a spiritual comfort, but also offers us an insight into how Sikhism has sustained. The place got its name after the fact that Guru Gobind Singh set his foot here or because he lost an ornament here that he used to wear on his foot.

 As per legends, the Gurudwara was once visited by Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth guru of the Sikhs. The Sikh Guru came to Sirmour on the invitation of the Raja Medini Prakash and was so impressed with the courtesy of the king that he decided to stay the next four years at Poanta and left a written account of his life in the kingdom, which he described as some happiest years of his life.

Paonta Sahib Gurudwara It is said that, once Raja Medini Prakash and Guru Gobind Singh Ji were exploring the place. On their excursion, Guruji was so much impressed that he decided to set a camp on the bank of the river. Guruji laid the foundation of this holy city with his own holy hands and named it Paon-tikka, which is famous as Paonta Sahib today.

As a token of respect and gratitude, Raja Medini Prakash decided to construct a Gurudwara on the bank of Yamuna River. Before leaving the Gurudwara, Guruji fought many battles against some of the neighbouring kingdoms.

Daat Kali temple

Established on 13th June 1804, the Daat Kali Temple is very popular people specially in locals. It is believed that the temple was made when construction work of Dehradun – Saharanpur highway was under process. Maa Kali appeared in the dream of an engineer, who was working on the national highway project, gave him an idol of Goddess Kali and ordered him to bulid a temple at this site.

Located at 1,706 m sea level, Lansdowne is a lovely hill station in the Pauri Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. It is established in AD 1887 by the British. Rajaji National Park

RAJAJI NATIONAL PARK is spread over an area of 820 sq km and comes under three districts of Uttarakhand: Haridwar, Dehradun and Pauri-Garhwal. In 1983, the Park came into existence when three wildlife sanctuaries, Chilla, Motichur and Rajaji sanctury in the Shivalik mountain ranges were combined into one large wildlife reserve. It is named after C. Rajagopalachari (Rajaji), the famous freedom fighter who became the first Governor- General of India. Sub-tropical, riverine and sal forests and grasslands abound at this park. It is home to the Asian elephant, cheetal, hog deer, barking deer and a lot of species.
